The Constantine Lightweight Hand-Carry Case

Museum : Packing

Designed and fabricated in the UK based on our proprietary specifications, the Constantine Lightweight Hand-Carry case is suitable for use in the packing and transport of a wide range of museum and art objects. All cases are customer made to the dimensions of the object, eliminating wasted space and hence contributing significantly to the safety of the object and the comfort of the courier.

The case is constructed with a revolutionary new material called Astroboard, made of lightweight expanded Polypropylene. This design provides exceptional puncture resistance along with at least a 40 percent weight reduction as compared to the traditional flight case design. The structure is made up with strong, lightweight aluminium extrusions and is completely inert. Other features include:

  • Strong, ergonomic carrying handle
  • Optional 4.5mm or 7mm board thickness
  • Rounded “Ball” corners
  • Optional rubber lid gasket
  • Steel lid hinges and catches
  • Two padlocks supplied per case
  • 10mm Ethafoam lining
  • Additional 35mm Polyurethane Foam in lid

The case can be provided in two basic formats: Briefcase, for two dimensional objects such as pictures;or Object case, for small three dimensional objects. All formats are acceptable for use in airplane cabins, provided they comply with CAA and individual Airline guidelines.
